A FULL SERVICE GENERAL AND SPECIAL MACHINE SHOP

Some Company History

D&L Machine Company was incorporated in 1963 by John and Rosella Olah. The company mainly served the fossil fuel and packaging industries.

John Olah passed away in 1990. The company was purchased by three of its employees in 1991, Richard Gingo (plant manager), Charles Bell (office manager), and Naaman Elliott (shop supervisor).

The new owners immediately began expanding the customer base into new industries, and within a couple of years sales numbers doubled. In 1996 with the business growing steadily and no room to expand at the old Cuyahoga Falls location, land was purchased and a new building was built at 1029 Arlington Circle, Akron, Ohio. The company moved into the new facility in January of 1997.

In 2003 the owners purchased one of D&L’s customers of more than 20 years, The Cecil C. Peck Co. located in Cleveland Ohio. With that purchase the company gained the ability to offer mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic assembly as well as custom machine design and build. (For more information on Cecil Peck LLC go to www.cecilpeckllc.com.)

In 2005 Richard Gingo retired leaving Charles Bell as President and Naaman Elliott as Vice President. Charles and Naaman, who are both experienced machinists, along with the highly skilled employees of the company continue to make sure that customers receive quality parts at reasonable prices in a timely manner.

In 2011 the owners purchased another of D&L’s long standing customers, Leland Gifford, INC. located in Akron Ohio. With this purchase D&L Gained the ability to offer precision scraping and fitting of machines. As well as they took on Leland Gifford's existing customer base, which primarily offers repair parts and rebuild service for their various product lines.  Product lines include; Barker milling machines, Center lapping machines, Hybco tool & cutter grinders, Heston screen changers, Gallmeyer & Livingston (Grand Rapids Grinders), Leland-Gifford drilling machines, Kent-Owens milling machines, Stone abrasive saws, Wardwell saw sharpeners, and Reid surface grinders.
